Igor Lerman's Chamber Orchestra performed its first program on February 25, 1989. The orchestra has recorded 15 CDs. In addition to transcriptions by the artistic director, conductor, and founder of the orchestra Igor Lerman, the recordings include works by Corelli (12 concerti grossi, Op. 6), Vivaldi, Bach, Tchaikovsky, Satie, Debussy, Ravel, Bartok, Hindemith, Shostakovich, Prokofiev, Schnittke, Piazzolla and other composers.
Performing with the orchestra at various times were: Elena Obraztsova, Nikolai Petrov, Boris Berezovsky, Cyprien Katsaris, Viktor Tretyakov, Alexander Knyazev, the Borodin Quartet, the "Virtuosi of Moscow" chamber orchestra conducted by Vladimir Spivakov, and other renowned performers and ensembles.
The repertoire of Igor Lerman's Chamber Orchestra is extensive and multifaceted, from Baroque music to contemporary composers. A significant part of it consists of transcriptions by the artistic director and conductor.
The orchestra often performs in cities of Tatarstan and Russia. The ensemble's tours in the Republic of Moldova, Ukraine, Poland, Germany, Spain, as well as concerts within music festivals in Russian cities (St. Petersburg, Kislovodsk, Kaliningrad, Perm), Switzerland, and Israel, have been successful.
After several Russian concert tours, according to enthusiastic press and feedback from numerous audiences, it was called one of the best chamber orchestras in Russia.
