The exhibition presents books about the main events and major battles of the Great Patriotic War, written by participants and eyewitnesses of those tragic days. It also introduces users to the works of front-line writers. Writers who walked the roads of war wrote wonderful books about those distant years. Some wrote during and after the hostilities, some years later, and some, like Vasil Bykov, wrote about the war throughout their post-war life.
Their works primarily explore soldierly friendship, front-line camaraderie, the hardships of campaign life, the fear of death, and heroism. These include "The Dawns Here Are Quiet" by Boris Vasilyev, "Hot Snow" by Yuri Bondarev, "Killed near Moscow" by Konstantin Vorobyov, and books by other front-line authors.
