Participant of the III Festival of National Theatres (Russia, Naberezhnye Chelny). Performance by the Gornomari Drama Theatre (Kozmodemyansk, Republic of Mari El).
A tragic farce based on the tale by Nikolai Leskov about the fate of folk craftsmen, their originality, wit, and ingenuity.
The main character of the play is a simple Tula gunsmith, endowed with immense diligence and undeniable talent, pure, religious, and devoted to the Fatherland, possessing golden hands and unique skills. He managed to outperform foreign craftsmen and shoe the tiny steel mechanical flea they had created.
His fate could have been brilliant, had Levsha been duly appreciated.
