Poetry Hour "In my own free way…"

At the event dedicated to the life and work of the poet and translator Nikolai Gumilev, attendees will hear about the key moments of his biography and immerse themselves in the poetic world—the world of a dreamer and romantic, a captain and a knight in love. They will learn about his family history and little-known facts from his personal life. They will discover him as a traveler, an explorer of Africa, and a soldier who volunteered for the front in World War I, as well as his complicated relationship with the poetess Anna Akhmatova. Guests will listen to music videos based on the poet's verses performed by famous Russian pop artists.
