On June 17, at the House of Friendship of Peoples "Rodnik", a meeting titled "Introduction to the Traditions of Armenia" will be held for members of the folk dance ensemble "Kavkaz-Chally". The event starts at 18:00.
Participants will immerse themselves in the centuries-old culture of Armenia — a country with a heritage spanning over five thousand years, where ancient customs are organically woven into modernity. Guests will learn about unique traditions, from festive ceremonies to family rituals: they will hear about St. Sargis Day with its custom of baking a salty pancake, "akhblit," to see one's future spouse in a dream, and about Trndez — a holiday for lovers, where couples jump over a bonfire, symbolizing the strength of their feelings. Participants will learn the elements of Armenian folk dances, their symbolism, and their connection to the history of the people. They will also be introduced to dishes of Armenian cuisine — thin lavash, dolma, khash, khorovats, gata; and will hear stories about the traditions of feasts and hospitality.
