Libraries are true treasuries of cultural values and knowledge accumulated by humanity over the centuries. The exhibition is dedicated to librarians – those who carefully preserve and pass on the wisdom of generations.
The exposition features publications on the history of librarianship and the people of this noble profession. Among them is a collection of works by Nadezhda Krupskaya "On Librarianship," containing articles and documents on library work during the Soviet years. V. Lidin's book "My Friends – Books" is the writer's reflections on how to build a home library and why truly good works do not lose their relevance over time. It is complemented by the essay "The Book is Immortal" – a story of librarians who saved books in occupied territories.
A. Likhanov's novella "Children's Library" is a touching story about a boy named Kolya and his mentor, the librarian Tatyana Lvovna, a former ballerina evacuated from besieged Leningrad. I. Babel's essay "Public Library" is dedicated to the work in a book depository and the role of the book in human life. The exposition is complemented by M. Afanasyev's book "Library" – a fascinating study of the history of libraries from antiquity to the present day, their role in the development of society, and the challenges they face in the digital age.
