The Literary and Local History Museum of the Central City Library was opened on April 26, 2007. It houses over 2,000 exhibits.
During the guided tour, visitors will learn about the literary life of the city and the Chelny region from the pre-KAMAZ era to the present day. The main exhibition of the museum covers the life and work of famous local writers, the history of Naberezhnye Chelny writers' organizations – the branches of the Writers' Union of Tatarstan and Russia, KAMAZ poets, and Moscow writers who visited the "Avtograd". A significant space is dedicated to Tatar classics, as well as the literary creativity of young residents of Chelny.
Upon visiting the museum, those interested will be able to type on a typewriter that belonged to the city's poets, write with an ink pen, and much more.
The heart of the museum is the M. Jalil corner. Visitors will see unique materials from the battlefields of the 2nd Shock Army. The items and documents were collected in the summer of 1990 near the village of Myasnoy Bor in the Valley of Death by Central City Library employee R. Khamidullina.
The event is held by appointment by phone: 7 (917) 283-50-96, 7 (927) 427-43-55. Individual tours for up to 5 people and group tours from 6 to 20 people are available.
