On June 11, 1811, Vissarion Grigoryevich Belinsky was born—a Russian literary critic, publicist, historian, and theorist of literature and art who played a key role in the development of Russian literary thought in the 19th century.
As part of the celebration of the critic's 215th anniversary, exhibition visitors will be able to get acquainted with his biography, as well as critical articles and reviews of the works of A. S. Pushkin, M. Y. Lermontov, N. V. Gogol, A. S. Griboyedov, N. A. Nekrasov, and many other Russian classics.
The exhibition will also feature the works themselves, which were subjected to systematic analysis by Belinsky: "Dead Souls," "The Overcoat," "A Hero of Our Time," "Woe from Wit," and others.
